What? Where? Who?
What?
Welcome to Veggie Rant - food, fun and rants for vegetarians and their friends who are sympathetic to their “freakish condition” (as one of my friends likes to call it).
If you’re a vegetarian who enjoys going to restaurants for ‘normal’ people with your omnivorous mates, craves a place to share gripes over misconceptions about your choice of food, and have a rollicking good time doing it, this is the blog for you.
Or if you’ve befriended a vego and, while you nod and smile supportively at their decision to be an anaemic hippie, you kind of don’t understand it, this is also the place for you.
May we all live, eat and drink in health, harmony and chocolate (because, really, people who don’t like chocolate are the real weirdos in this world).
Where?
While a lot of my ranting will be universal, it’ll help if you’re based in Sydney, Australia, which is where most of my food reviews will come from. Having said that, my eternally itchy feet do take me elsewhere at least a few times a year - namely the US, the UK (where food goes to die… kidding! There are some delights there too… just don’t drink the coffee!) and, of course, other parts of Australia.

Keira Daley - The (Vegetarian) Girl Who Never Grew Up™
Who?
Keira Daley is a Sydney-based journalist, occasional performer and regular eater.
Her first writing project was the 1986 epic, The Alligator’s Trail - complete with colour pencil illustrations and stapler-binding. And she hasn’t put down the pen since… except when she started using a keyboard. Nowadays, her handwriting would look neater if she wrote while white-water rafting. But her keyboardmanship is beautiful.
By day she works for a leading Australian lifestyle/entertainment magazine, and by night you’ll either find her messing about on stage, watching TV, spending too much money on food… or blogging.
You can read more from Keira at The Daley Rant.
